A Quickfang From Pedacito de Cielo
Guadalupe's Pink Bourbon is the next coffee to open a doorway into Roastersaurus World: a traditional washed Pink Bourbon from Miguel Fajardo Mendoza and Andrea's home farm, Pedacito de Cielo, in Calarcá, Quindío, Colombia.
This is a small first-fruits picking from young Pink Bourbon trees planted when their daughter Guadalupe was born. The seedlings came from El Fénix, but the coffee itself comes from Pedacito de Cielo: Miguel and Andrea's own farm above El Fénix, where coffee grows around the home they are building for their family.
In the cup, it moves like a Quickfang: bright red fruit, soft florals, and a cool cucumber-melon finish. It does not hit with weight. It moves with precision.
Pedacito de Cielo, Calarcá, Quindío
Pedacito de Cielo means piece of sky, and the name fits the place. The farm sits high on the hillside above El Fénix, where the sun catches the coffee planted around Miguel and Andrea's home.
The Pink Bourbon trees for this lot were planted in August 2023, at the same time Guadalupe was born. Miguel selected the seedlings from El Fénix because he had seen strong productivity and very good taste, then planted them at Pedacito de Cielo as part of a long-term family farm project.
This release is a glimpse before the first main harvest: a small picking from young trees, limited by nature, timing, and the fact that there simply is not much of it.
The Process
This Pink Bourbon was processed as a traditional washed coffee. Miguel explained that there was no long or extended fermentation here because he wanted to understand the terroir and the variety first, before exploring what fermentation could change later.
That clean washed approach keeps the coffee transparent. The fruit stays clear, the florals stay soft, and the cucumber-melon note gives the cup a cool finish without pulling it away from its red-fruit centre.
Pink Bourbon
Pink Bourbon has become a sought-after name in Colombian specialty coffee, loved for its expressive fruit, floral sweetness, and pink-to-orange cherries. Its exact genetic story is still debated, which makes it even more interesting, but the cup is the important part here: vivid, aromatic, clean, and quietly unusual.
Cup Character
Pimm’s. Garden. Party.
Raspberry, pink grapefruit and strawberry lead with clean red-fruit brightness, while black cherry, peach and apricot give the cup a rounder fruit core. Gardenia and lily sit softly over the top, before melon and cucumber carry the finish into that cool, garden-party feeling.
That balance of bright fruit, soft florals, washed clarity and cooling finish is where the Raptor starts to appear: quick, lightly structured and precise, with enough Bite to feel alive and enough Stamina to keep moving after the first sip.
